...in the Shades of Spring

I know, this is not that dream summer palette, abundant with brightness and juiciness, I'm always keen on, but..!  Sincerelly, I couldn't manage to post this in due time, so now it's a kind of repairing an omission from my side.
Our early spring walks, when the dominating colours of nature were much more likely to resemble those of autumn -- soft greys, pale yellows, beige and grey-greens, made me wonder, "How would interiors set in the same colours look like?" And here's what I have found:

IMAGE CREDITS: 1 - VIA ELLE DECOR    2 -  MOROCCAN INSPIRED BEDROOM VIA APARTMENT THERAPY     3 - A BEDROOM CORNER FEATURING PIECES OF FABRIC IN METAL FRAMES VIA MARTHA STEWART        4 - WALLPAPER WITH FLORAL ORNAMENT VIA FLICKR  5 - PAINTED YELLOW BEIGE MOTHER OF PEARL TILES VIA HOUZZ.COM6 - PAULA CARAVELLI & JOAN MITCHELL FROM ELLE DECOR, MARCH, 2010   7 - MOROCCAN GREY ROOM WITH YELLOW CHAIRS VIA PINTEREST   8 - MOROCCAN ORNAMENTS AND GREY WALLPAPERS VIA EXCLUSIVEWALLS    9 - FACETED CERAMIC YELLOW VASES VIA GILT.COM   10 - CRASPEDIA FLOWERS VIA FIFTYFLOWERS.COM

And, to showcase what I have meant to say above, the last couple of interiors goes along with my own photograpy of willow branches and a blooming daffodil.

INTERIORS IMAGE CREDITS: VIA HERE and HERE

Well, though I don't feel like opting for such colour combination in my own house, still, I think, a guest visiting to a space similar to any of the featured above might be a pleasant experience. These warm, muted earth tones refreshed with the white offer the right dosage of conciliation and coziness, don't they?

Ok, next time something very summer-ish! Stay tuned! ;)

 A NOTE FROM WIKIPEDIA:
SHERWANI(Urdu: شیروانی‎) is a long coat-like garment worn in South Asia.
It was traditionally associated with the Muslim aristocracy of the northern Indian subcontinent. It is worn over the Kurta and Churidar, Khara pajama, a shalwar.
It can be distinguished from the achkan by the fact that it is often made from heavier suiting fabrics, and by the presence of a lining.
It is notably known as Pakistan's national dress.

ARTIST OF THE DAY: AIDA MAHMUDOVA

Wanna know how I spent my today's early morning? Feeling upset over not having enough skills to express my feelings and imagination through paintings... Though, it's not the first time when I happen to put out about this. I've become so art addicted lately!
Fortunately, there are artists in whose works I can find, almost in the littlest details, the unspoken of my inner world, and discover new treasures to be then called "mine."
As if I had painted that myself. With this, my creative melancholy goes fading away.  Aida Mahmudova from Azerbaijan is one such artist.

I am amazed with the Penguin Threads debut, collectible series, the project for which the covers of some of the world's classics were hand-embroidered by two artists, Jillian Tamaki and Rachell Sumpter. A truly heart warming gift and a unique must have for everyone who is passionate both about reading and embroidery! As I, by the way, so much, am!
Jillian Tamaki, the Brooklyn-based illustrator and comic artist, has designed these three:

Jillian Tamaki lensed by Toronto photographer Sam Javanrouh {via here}.

And these
three books:  The Wind in the Willows by Keneth Grahame, The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum and Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, are beautifully done by another artist, from San Francisco,  Rachell Sumpter.

The inside covers show the undersurface of the front side embroidery, like this:

Though we are already in the mid of August, luckily, I don't notice yet any signs of autumn -- neither in the air nor visually! I do love golden autumn, but I just can't let the summer go either!
Well, actually, this was a kind of prelude to tell you that I'm gonna to be off till the end of the week (just a long-anticipated, little vacation in the countryside ヅ).
But I'd like to leave you inspired with some colourful fashion artworks.
Such a smart idea to combine different artistic media -- illustrations and real fashion pieces like textile and jewelry, isn't it?!

Melissa : Plastic Dreams

Today I'm coming with a huge post and it will be all about... shoes! Plastic(!) shoes by a Brasilian brand Melissa produced of Melflex -- a special kind of plastic that is claimed to be smell-free, hypoallergenic and highly elastic.

So, here are three editorials from Melissa's special brand magazine Plastic Dreams; invited heroines are Lily Cole, Alessandra Ambrosio and Alek Wek!

18- MORNING SALINSA SANDALS   19- ZAHA HADID FOR MELISSA

Well, I've always had sympathy for plastic, be it about 60's fashioned jewelry either furniture in futuristic shapes, but plastic shoes is something new to me, and I am becoming a fan!

Also, I believe, if not in the whole, but for the most part any kind of manufacturing must be environmentally safe! And, here goes the biggest pro for Melissa shoes for they are being eco-friendly! So, please, let's support ecologically oriented manufacturers, at least that is something that lies in our power as to contributing to keeping our planet healthy.

So what? Ready for a pair of plastic lovelies in your own wardrobe?

Interior Trend: Watercolours

$

Well, it's finally here, my long-promised interior post, and I hope you'll like it! Today's theme -- watercolours, a remarkable trend in fashion and interior design! Many bloggers dedicate at least one post to their priming for anything watercoloured, so I decided not to be an exclusion either and share some attractive ideas on how we could welcome watercolours into our homes!

Mmm, these solvents in the cups ↑, so fresh and shining! As if they were calling, "Drink me!" :D It reminds me of Yupi instant beverages that I used to like in my childhood (in fact, it was a couple of times only, then their healthiness was put into doubt and we never bought 'em again). It was a red powder in a small packaging, which with some water poured in turned to a yummy sour liquid of suspiciously attractive, acid colour .

By the way, I noticed that such deep navy blue for walls (the very first room above and  one  more large image  a bit down below) is extremely popular these days. Not far to seek, by blue leaks trickling down the electric pipes in our kitchen, the neighbours of the upper apartment were obviously painting their walls exactly in this very hue... 8|

I, personally, have always preferred colourful painted and tiled, sometimes even natural wood walls, to any wallpapered ones. But, there are so many interesting designs of various tempting textures emerging these days that I feel like being ready for some daring experiments. Here're several bright examples when the right wallpapers decide everything!

Hello Autumn!

There is a saying that your favourite season of the year is that in which you were born. Having my birthday in the very beginning of November, I should admit that this statement comes very close to reality. And still my most favourite is and always will be Summer, I find myself so very much excited about Autumn as well! Even more than I had been last year!

I am being amazed with shining golds and sparkling rubies of the lush foliage, by muggy days with occasional sunshowers and the meditative spirit of cool, foggy mornings,  the dizzying scent of smoke of dry burning leaves, and a sense of an overwhelming envelopment in an aura of peace and comfort.

"Autumn is a second spring..." -- what a lovely comparison, isn't it!? A curious note, in turkish language the word for 'autumn' will be 'sonbahar' that literally means 'last spring'!

Scorpios, are often blamed for being hard at sharing the good that comes their way. Unfortunately, the source is unknown. But you may find e.g. in a German web catalogue Kare Designexactly the same kind of bottles.
